Proxy Usage FAQs and Troubleshooting

Find answers to other common proxy usage questions and troubleshooting solutions.

1. Can overseas IPs connect directly from mainland China?

Our static IPs are designed exclusively for overseas local scenarios. Due to strict national laws and regulations governing cross-border networks, all legitimate overseas IPs cannot be accessed directly under network environments within mainland China.

To avoid disruption to your business, please ensure you configure the required underlying overseas network environment before formal use.

2. How large is PuraRoute’s proxy IP pool?

We currently maintain over 90 million proxies across 195 locations worldwide.

3. What is the cleanliness level of your IPs?

There is no standardized definition for "IP cleanliness" within the networking industry. Third-party IP checker websites adopt inconsistent evaluation criteria, and most operate for profit. Their scores are not recommended as benchmarks for your business deployment. Databases vary between providers. The practical performance of an IP ultimately depends on the real-world operation results of your overseas business.

4. Is there a limit on the number of devices that can use the IP?

We impose no hard limits on the number of devices.

However, from a stability perspective, running traffic on multiple devices simultaneously or creating excessive concurrent threads will overburden the IP and reduce connection speeds. To ensure smooth operation of your overseas business, we recommend keeping concurrent connected devices under 3. This preserves connection speed and improves account anti-detection security.

5. Why does IP geolocation mismatch occur when testing proxies with anti-detect browsers?

Anti-detect browsers integrate third-party IP lookup services. If the detected IP location does not match your purchased IP location, manually switch to another IP lookup service to recheck.

If the IP location remains incorrect across all lookup services, please contact our support team.

6. Why does the IP country differ from the country selected at the time of purchase?

Different browsers and websites rely on separate IP geolocation databases, and some databases may experience data delays. Try re-testing using alternative proxy checkers or websites.

7. What will PuraRoute do if an IP gets blocked by the target website?

PuraRoute’s product architecture greatly reduces blocking risks at the source, but resolution differs by proxy type:

  • Dynamic Residential Proxies: Their core advantage is high anonymity and bypassing blocks. If the IP used for a request is blocked by the target site, simply send a new request via your proxy configuration. The system will instantly assign a fresh residential IP selected from our pool of over 90 million high-quality IPs to keep your business running.
  • Static Proxies: PuraRoute ensures long-term IP stability through exclusive clean private resources and anti-abuse controls to minimize blocking risk. Since static IPs are dedicated to you, permanent bans triggered by your high-frequency operations on target sites cannot be automatically lifted. You may contact our official support or technical team for troubleshooting and solutions.

8. Why does proxy testing fail in my proxy software?

Over 90% of such failures stem from your local network environment. First, verify that your proxy credentials are entered correctly. If you are using a VPN, confirm whether your VPN runs in global mode and that the VPN node supports traffic forwarding.

9. Why do IP checker platforms return poor or inconsistent data for my IP?

IP checking websites match IP addresses against their internal databases. Inconsistent results across different tools mainly arise from varying third-party database sources and uneven update frequencies. Evaluation standards are not unified across the industry. Scores from a single IP checker are for reference only; real-world performance for your overseas business is the true measure.

10. Why am I experiencing latency, packet loss and stuttering with my IP?

Static IPs only provide fixed addresses and do not have cross-border access, acceleration or network optimization capabilities. IP latency and packet loss mainly depend on the link quality of your local overseas network environment, the performance of your proxy software protocol, and the load of the target website server. These are essentially link and device issues rather than flaws of the IP itself. We recommend that you troubleshoot and optimize your local overseas network environment first.

If stuttering persists after troubleshooting your local setup, please contact our support team for assistance.
